320W of solar in a panel just 2mm thick and 4.7kg.

Most solar panels are glass, heavy and need a frame. The Sunman eArc is glass-free and flexible, so it can bond flat to a curved or flat surface with no rack and very little added height. That keeps the weight and the wind noise down, which is the same reason we build our tents and awnings the way we do.

It uses high-efficiency monocrystalline cells in an impact-resistant composite, with an IP68 junction box and MC4-compatible leads.

Mounting

The eArc bonds on. There's no frame and no screws, and you never drill through the panel.

  • Surfaces: aluminium, steel, fibreglass or sealed marine ply, clean and degreased.
  • Bond it with: high-bond VHB tape or a structural silicone such as Fix8. Polyurethane adhesives like Sikaflex aren't suitable.
  • Leave an air gap: 2–5mm under the panel helps it run cooler. Never seal around the edges.
  • Support it fully: the panel needs continuous support underneath. On an open roof rack, stiffen the edges with C-channel.
  • Flex limit: bend it in one direction only, up to about 100mm over 1.5m.
  • Let it cure: tape reaches 90% strength after a day and full strength after 3 days, so don't drive until it's bonded. Fit it out of direct sun and wind.
