Rooftop Tents

What makes Rebellion rooftop tents different?

Rebellion rooftop tents are engineered around one principle: reducing roof weight without compromising strength or durability. Our low-profile designs help maximise your available roof-load capacity while improving vehicle handling, fuel efficiency and everyday usability.

Why does rooftop tent weight matter?

Every kilogram mounted on your roof affects your vehicle's dynamic roof-load capacity. A lighter rooftop tent leaves more available capacity for awnings, recovery gear, roof racks and touring accessories while reducing stress on your roof rack system.

What's the difference between carbon fibre and aluminium?

Carbon fibre offers the lightest possible roof weight, making it ideal for vehicles with lower roof-load limits or travellers wanting maximum carrying flexibility.

Aluminium provides excellent strength, durability and value while remaining significantly lighter than many traditional rooftop tents.

Will your rooftop tents fit my vehicle?

Our rooftop tents fit most dual-cab utes, wagons and SUVs when paired with a suitable roof rack system.

Before purchasing, always check:

• Your vehicle's dynamic roof-load rating

• Your roof rack manufacturer's weight rating

• The combined weight of your roof rack and chosen tent

If you're unsure, contact us before ordering.

How quickly do the tents set up?

All Rebellion rooftop tents use an assisted opening system designed for fast setup and pack-down in just a few minutes.

Are the tents waterproof?

Yes.

Our rooftop tents use premium blackout canvas, waterproof rainflies and weather-resistant construction designed for Australian touring conditions.

Can I leave bedding inside?

Yes.

Most standard bedding can remain inside when packed, provided it doesn't prevent the tent from closing correctly.

Can one person install the tent?

We recommend installation by two people due to the size of the rooftop tent.

270° Awnings

Why choose a lightweight 270° awning?

A lighter awning helps preserve valuable roof-load capacity while making installation easier and reducing unnecessary weight on your roof.

What's the difference between the Carbon and Aluminium awning?

The Carbon 270° Awning is our lightest option at just 13kg and is ideal for lightweight touring builds.

The Aluminium 270° Awning offers outstanding value while remaining significantly lighter than many traditional awnings at only 18kg.

Are your awnings freestanding?

Yes.

Our awnings are designed to be freestanding in calm conditions. In windy weather, we always recommend using the supplied poles and guy ropes.

Can the awnings stay on permanently?

Yes.

The awnings are designed to remain mounted year-round when installed correctly.

Roof Load

Does roof rack weight count toward my roof load limit?

Yes.

Your roof rack, rooftop tent, awning and any accessories all contribute toward your vehicle's published dynamic roof-load rating.

What's the difference between dynamic and static roof load?

Dynamic roof load is the maximum weight your vehicle can safely carry while driving.

Static roof load refers to the weight your roof can support while parked, including occupants sleeping inside the tent.

Where can I find my vehicle's roof load rating?

Your vehicle's dynamic roof-load rating can usually be found in the owner's manual or by contacting the vehicle manufacturer.

Can you help calculate my roof load?

Absolutely.

If you provide your vehicle, roof rack and the products you're considering, we'll help calculate your total roof weight before you purchase.

Still Have Questions?

We're passionate about lightweight touring and we're always happy to help.

Rebellion 4x4 was built from a simple idea: rooftop touring gear shouldn’t have to be heavy, bulky, or overcomplicated to be reliable.

The brand was founded by two long-time friends with different strengths. Jamie brings years of touring experience and an understanding of what works in real world conditions. Nick comes from a background in importing, sales, and marketing, with a focus on building products properly and bringing them to market the right way.

Together, we saw a gap in the market.

Too many rooftop setups had become unnecessarily heavy, oversized, and difficult to live with day to day. Weight was often marketed as durability, but in reality it created new problems. Roof load limitations, added wind drag, reduced fuel efficiency, and compromised vehicle practicality.

Rebellion 4x4 was created to challenge that.

Our focus is simple:

Reduce unnecessary weight, maintain real-world durability, and improve everyday usability.

Every product is designed to sit lower, weigh less, and integrate better with modern touring vehicles without compromising strength or reliability in harsh Australian conditions.

We don’t believe in unnecessary features, overbuilt designs, or marketing hype. We focus on practical touring products that work consistently, reliably, and without complication.

While Jamie brings long-term touring experience, Nick brings a fresh perspective. Coming into the industry as a beginner allowed us to question assumptions, simplify designs, and focus on what genuinely matters to customers.

Our products are tested in the same conditions they’re built for, ensuring they perform not just in specifications, but in real-world touring environments.

Looking ahead, the goal remains simple:

continue building lightweight, durable, and premium touring products designed for modern Australian vehicles and practical everyday touring.

Lightweight Touring. Real Capability.
